One of my cyanotypes is the cover image for Lost Originals, the new collection of poetry by David B. Goldstein. In 2005, David and I decided to do a DIY artist colony with a group of friends. The cyanotype was made at the same time and place he wrote a lot of the book, at a strange old house we rented in Sintra, Portugal. The house on a hill had a warren of rooms, and was filled with a crazy amount of antiques and old dolls. It was a great source of inspiration for David, and for me as well (the cyanotype was created with keys found at the house).
I also have another image in the book from a series called “You Be the Arpeggio”, in which David wrote poems in response to some of my self-portraits.
You can buy a copy of the book here from BookThug Press, and in the Ottawa Poetry Newsletter you can read a beautiful essay by David about his writing process for the first part of the book (which also describes the kooky house in more detail).
